More on Andrew’s Story

Constantly seeking to innovate, Andrew J Covault is on a mission to invigorate his work with deeper meaning, using great design as a catalyst to inspire and benefit others.  Recognized as an entrepreneurial innovator, he has spearheaded numerous programs that have led to product launches, patents, trademarks, and successfully negotiated licenses for his designs.

Starting his first design consultancy at age 26, and quickly becoming integral to elevating one clients’ innovation process launching new ventures in 3 global markets and receiving multiple international awards for their work.  Andrew has built two award winning consultancies, the later being Innoworks Inc.  From its early foundation, Innoworks was conceived as a creative venture embodying two personalities, one consulting, the other entrepreneurial ventures to create, produce, and launch innovations to market under equity partnerships.

One such internal Innoworks program quickly evolved into a license equity partnership with the Eddie Bauer brand, who were seeking to revitalize their hydration gear category, and ultimately became the number 1 seller in its category at 910 US retail locations, selling well over $14.4 million in retail sales for 4 years in Target Stores and led to global co-branding with GE Plastics.  Not only did the design conceived by Innoworks greatly increase sales, but it introduced the functional ‘flip-up drinking spout’ to the reusable water bottle category, a design that has since been adopted by every major competitor in their products.

Throughout his career, Andrew has consulted with Fortune 500 companies and ambitious startups aiming to dominate their industries. One such startup, ZōN Audio, created by a former partner in Imax who provided all the immersive environmental sound technologies for Imax theaters worldwide did just that.  With rave reviews of the design language Innoworks created for the product line launch, ZōN Audio went on to win the CEA Mark of Excellence, CE Pro Innovator of the Year Award, CES Innovation Award and was a huge market success.

Other client’s included Coleman Outdoors, Coleman Japan, Coleman International, IMAX/Sonics, Coca-Cola, ZōN Audio, Fisher Price, American Rec, PepsiCo, Eddie Bauer, Abu Garcia, and Target Stores.  Each collaboration has been a testament to his ability to transform visionary ideas into market-leading products.

Andrew’s journey, one of perpetual reinvention and meaningful contributions is fueled not only by his education and professional experiences but by his personal life as well.  After the loss of his wife and mother of his three children to cancer, he took an extended hiatus from consulting to take on the roll of single parent for his young children.  We honor her memory and others’ contributions through our 1% Initiative.  14 years later Andrew is remarried having found immense joy and hope for the future with his wife and their five children.  He continues with his avid reading and studies in design, innovation strategies, Bauhaus principles, Tai Chi, Eastern meditation, and exploring the spiritual and human creative potential.  This holistic approach resonates in his personal, family and professional pursuits and is now focused on creating an impact with the launch of Woven Granite.
